Energy demand is increasing day-to-day according to the increase in population and industrial expansion. There exists a lack of technical knowledge in the case of monitoring and controlling energy consumptions. The proposed system helps people to take the readings their energy consumption via LCD. This system gives details of parameters such as voltage, current and power. Thus we can attain perfect load management. PIR (Passive Infrared) sensor is deployed for attaining load management. This system will help the users to choose their own tariff on the basis of their income. PZEM-004T sensor is used to measure the parameters and store it on the arduino.

1.0 Introduction
1.1 Background of the study
Contemporary global concern about the wise use of energy is driven by the growing mandate for energy and the escalating environmental impacts of energy consumption. This necessity is most acutely demonstrated in Palestine, where the inhabited sector accounts for a large portion of the country's energy consumption. Thus, the quest to delve into the intelligent management of indoor energy consumption is more urgent than ever. While cost-related aspects have typically dominated discussions about smart energy consumption management, our study seeks to provide a comprehensive understanding that includes knowledge of residents, residential behavior, and environmental implications (Meng et al., 2017).
The necessity of this study arises from the rapid rise in global industrial, economic and population growth, which has led to a significant increase in energy consumption. This escalation underscores the urgent need for a wiser and more effective approach to managing energy consumption through modern methodologies. The current landscape is characterized by the dominance of smart technologies and techniques (Meng et al., 2017).
Smart energy is the intelligent optimization of energy costs and efficiency using innovative technology to build and operate a sustainable energy management system. This is accomplished by integrating sensors (Meng et al., 2017).
They help us collect data on these systems, monitor them, understand waste patterns, load, and parameters to optimize energy usage.
With smart energy, organizations of all sizes are now recognizing the need for energy efficiency. The system identifies where to make improvements in your energy usage and recognize how to avoid excessive usage and load.
System optimize energy usage in homes using iot sensor enables user to measure their circuits with integrated hardware products that gather information on where, when, and how much electricity their organisation or home is using (Zhanbo et al., 2013).
Monitoring energy usage is becoming increasingly important for organisations to understand where they can reduce loads to lower their costs and to reduce their carbon footprint. Cost savings can offer valuable competitive advantage; there are potential penalties for failure to reduce carbon footprints; and there is a growing expectation amongst consumers that companies will uphold the highest standards of energy efficiency (Zhanbo et al., 2013).
This work is aimed at building a System optimize energy usage in homes using iot sensor which can be used to interrogate and analyse consumption, monitor trends and identify where wastage can be eliminated. This system has the capacity of displaying the voltage, current and power consumption through an LCD, then automatically switch off if the energy threshold is exceeded. It will also include temperature sensor that will operate fan or ac based on temperature, motion sensor that will switch on fan based on the presence of human being (Zhanbo et al., 2013).
1.2 Statement of the problem
The sudden rise in industrial, economic and population growth worldwide has led to a serious escalation in energy consumption, which has led to the need to increase energy generation efforts to counter this increase. Unfortunately, this increase in power generation carries the double burden of prohibitive costs and negative effects on air quality. Moreover, it opens the door to potential environmental and political challenges associated with resource depletion, global warming, and acid rain. Addressing these challenges necessitates the building of a smart energy management system that regulates energy consumption using sensors. Furthermore, our research seeks to elucidate the determinants affecting the incorporation of smart energy management protocols into building designs and characterize their effects on energy efficiency and financial dynamics.
1.3 Aim and objectives of the project
The aim of this study is to build a System optimize energy usage in homes using iot sensor. The objectives of this study are:
- To build the system prototype
- To optimize energy utilization and mitigate wastage.
- To facilitate a schedule for your smart devices to operate
- To Suggest energy saving actions based on usage patterns
- To Automatically controlling smart home devices based on room or home occupancy and temperature.
1.4 Scope of the study
