This paper proposes a pram monitoring system which is an automatic caretaker room for a baby. The main motive of this idea is to savetimeandenergyofverybusyparents.Workingpeopleareverybusythesedays.Theydonothaveenoughtimeto properly take care of their babies. So, the whole room is set up as it can sense the activities of the baby andwork according to requirement. Parents can save their time and energy as they don’t have to go and check theirbaby again and again until they don’t get any information about baby. Electric energy is also being savedbecause the devices will work only when they are needed. There will not be any wastage of electric energy. Theidea of this scenario is accomplished by using sensors and a microcontroller. The sensors will sense the thingshappeningand microcontrollerwilloperatethedevicesundertheconditionstheparentssetforthesedevices.

1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
This paper presents the Smart nursery room prototype model. There is huge problem the working parents arefacing is proper take care of their babies or toddlers. They cannot pay proper time for their babies. Toddlers andbabies need 24×7 observation of their parents, which is very difficult for working parents. This prototype modelsolves the problem of time and energy usage of such parents. The prototype model of the room contains amovement sensor, gas sensor, voice recognizer and other electronic devices connected to Arduino. The roomappliances are working with coordination of sensors and Arduino. Parents can set the electronic devices workaccording to the conditions they have given and they can operate these devices by their mobile phones evenwhen they are away from the baby room. There are many project works done for baby monitoring but they onlyworks to monitor baby’s temperature, heartbeat and some other baby’s physical conditions. But there is no workdoneonthewhole caretaker babyroom. Thisroomis multitasking.
IOT is the word of era. From Artificial Intelligence to networks IOT is playing a vital role. Everything is in theease of hands. The Internet of Things (IOT) is defined in many different ways, and it encompasses many aspectsoflifefromconnectedhomesandcitiestoconnectedcarsandroads, roadstodevicesthattrackanindividual’s behavior and use the data collected for push services. So, Internet of things is a system of interrelated computingdevices, digital machines, objects, animals or people that are provided with unique identifiers and the ability totransfer data from one place to another place over a network without requiring human to human or human tocomputer interaction. Internet of Things (IOT) is an ecosystem of connected physical objects that are accessiblethrough the internet. The thing in IOT could be a person with a heart monitor or an automobile with built-insensors, i.e. objects that have been assigned an IP address and have the ability to collect and transfer data over anetwork without manual assistance or intervention. The embedded technology in the objects helps them tointeract with internal states or the external environment, which in turn affects the decisions taken. In today’sworldthings shouldbe very fast andautomatic.IOTis a very goodplatform which canmake probablyeverythingautomatic.
A prototype is developed which gives a reliable and efficient baby monitoring system that can play a vital role in providing better infant care. This system monitor vital parameters like temperature, sound, acceleration, light intensity, position location and movement of an infant and using GSM network.
1.2 PROBLEM STATEMENT
Presently, female participation in the labour force in developing country such as Nigeria has greatly increased. Subsequently, infant care has become a challenge to many families in their daily life. Mother is always worries about the wellbeing of her baby (Garcia et al., 2013). As we seen in Nigeria both the parents need to work and look after their babies/infants, so more workload and stress is there on such families especially on female counterparts. This system is developed which continuously gives updates about their infants during illness or during normal routine then it will be of great help to such members as they can work in stress less environment giving more fruitful output. Also urgent situation condition can be quickly be noticed and handled within less time.
1.3 AIM AND OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
The main aim of this study is to a baby-pram monitoring system which is an automatic caretaker room for a baby. The objectives of the study are:
- To build the system prototype model
- To savetimeandenergyofverybusyparents.
- To ensure wellbeing of the infants in absents of their parents.
1.4 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
This study shall serve as a means of taking care of urgent situation of infants by giving a quick notice that will cause the situation to be handled within less time. Usually, when a young baby cries, the cause is one of the following things i.e. they are hungry, tired, not feeling well or need their diaper changed. So we This proposed system serve as a means of generating a peace of mind to loved ones when they are away from their infant as they can get an update status of their wellbeing. The other advantage is the programmability of alarm conditions can alleviate any inaccuracy through a normal sensor.
1.5 SCOPE OF THE STUDY
The scope of this work covers building a prototype which gives a reliable and efficient baby monitoring system that can play a vital role in providing better infant care. This system monitor vital parameters like temperature, sound, acceleration, light intensity, position location and movement of an infant and using GSM network this information is transferred to their parents. Measurements of vital parameters can be done and under risk situation conveyed to the parents with alarm triggering system to initiate the proper control actions.
1.6 METHODOLOGY
To achieve the aim and objectives of this work, the following are the steps involved:
- Study of the previous work on the project so as to improve it efficiency.
- Draw a block diagram.
- Test for continuity of components and devices,
- programming of microcontroller
- Design and calculation for the work was carried out.
- Studying of various component used in circuit.
- Construct the whole circuit.
- Finally, the whole device was cased and final test was carried out.
CHAPTER FIVE
5.1 Conclusion
In the nut shell, this system is made in the consideration of giving comfort to working parents. This system canbe very much usefulfor them. It also enhances the use of IOT. People can use the technology to make themmore comfortable and quick. Home appliances become connected to internet, which make them smart devices asthey can work by their own if they are designed in such mannerby using sensors. A Smart baby room can belike blessing for the parents. They don’t need to pay for maids or caretakers for their babies. They can trust onthesystembecausemachinesaremore reliable thanhumans.
5.2 Recommendation/Futurescope
