This work is on design and construction of a rechargeable socket. Rechargeable socket is a consumer electronics device used for powering and charging low power electronics device such as cell phone charger, rechargeable lantern and other low power devices. It comprises one or more electrochemical cells.
The rechargeable batteries generate smaller voltage which then provides a mains voltage to the wall socket. Therefore, a transformer is plugged into the wall socket and produces the necessary voltage for powering appliances. The batteries are rated at 9.0v, and a current of 262 mA. The wall socket provides a voltage of 220v. This device can be charged by electricity.
