Happy viewing!!!
Wireless panic alarm system is a full proof method to secure a building. The panic alarm system consists of panic alarm buttons and sirens. These panic buttons located at rather, strategic locations inside building premises. Moreover, high volume siren receivers spread across the building. While there is an event of an emergency, a person can alert the security personnel by mere pressing of a button. The panic siren system also has provision for handheld remote control units. Therefore, on press of remote controller, the building staff gets alerted. Then, respective panic button point shows up on the receiver console. It is possible to have more than one receiver consoles for the staff to know the panic point. Moreover, there is no limitation to the range of communication. And finally, boosters can help enhancing the signals kept at intermediate locations.

CHAPTER ONE
1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE PROJECT
The panic button is the device that the person activates when he or she needs help. There are many styles of panic buttons available. These can have a single pushbutton, two pushbuttons that must be pressed simultaneously, devices that must be squeezed, and devices that are activated by a foot or knee. There are also devices that can be covertly activated when cash or a product is removed at the request of a robber. Most panic buttons are specifically designed to resist accidental activation.
Panic buttons are normally installed in a location where they can easily be reached, yet out of view of the casual observer. In many cases, panic buttons are installed on the underside of a desk or counter-top.
Panic buttons can be the wired type or wireless type. Wired panic buttons are connected using cabling. Wired panic buttons are very reliable, but it can sometimes be difficult and costly to get cable to each panic button location.
Wireless panic buttons use a short-range radio transmitter, similar to that used with a garage door opener. Wireless panic buttons are easy to install and can be placed just about anywhere. Wireless panic buttons can also be carried around on the premises by employees if desired. Wireless panic buttons require batteries and need to be tested frequently to assure that they are operating properly.
1.2 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
The need for having a constant home protection has always been there. But in the recent times, considering a dramatic rise in petty crimes like robbery and theft, the need has been more strongly felt to have a fool proof protection of the belongings and the family members. Homesecurity has come a long way in the last few decades. It was in the hands of a guard or security personnel (like police) who manually provided surveillance during nights in the earlier days, but it was not fool proof as it was only normal for him to have momentary lapse of concentration. This device brought solution to this need. It ensures adequate protection against intruders.
- AIM OF THE PROJECT
The main aim of this work is to build a wireless of a panic alarm system that can be used for emergency purposes.
- OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT
Objectives of this project are:
- To build the system model
- To provide full security to our homes
- To allow a person under duress to quickly and silently call for help in the event of an emergency.
- SCOPE OF THE PROJECT
The scope of the work covers building a proactive panic alarm system that can be triggered from a wireless remote (in case you’re home) or from your smartphone (if you’re outdoors). This device was built using GSM module as the wireless control module.
- APPLICATION OF THE PROJECT
Areas of applications of panic alarms include:
- Receptionist's desks in building lobbies.
- Security stations and checkpoints.
- Shipping/receiving areas.
- Customer service counters.
- Check-out counters and cashier's stations.
- Rooms where cash or other valuables are received, processed, or stored.
- Interview rooms in Human Resources department.
- Executive office suites.
- Places where confrontations with the public are likely to occur.
- PROJECT ORGANISATION
The work is organized as follows: chapter one discuss the introductory part of the work, chapter two presents the literature review of the study, chapter three describes the methods applied, chapter four discusses the results of the work, chapter five summarizes the research outcomes and the recommendations.
CHAPTER FIVE
5.1 CONCLUSION
Home security is rapidly growing field and there are new and improved Panic alarms popping up every day. With rapid advancement of technology the filled is turning out to be an area full of scope and new changes can be made to make it’s more efficient. It has years to come, because security is of prime importance to one and all.
This project has basic steps taken in the design and construction of a wireless panic alarm in an electrical/ electronics workshop, these workshops which are well equipped, model for students of electrical/electronics to enhance and impact in them adequate knowledge on the various electrical devices and components.
5.2 RECOMMENDATION
First, I thank N.U.C (National University Commission) and this great Institution for allowing us such opportunities, which increases the technological know-how of students.
I recommend that this work should be researched more by future scholars as there are only but few of this work that has been researched on. There are many other forms of alarms that are more advanced like the house panic alarm and be worked on.
Also, I recommend that every house owner should endeavor to own or install a wireless panic alarm in their houses because; it is very effective and relevant.
