ABSTRACT

A Blender consists of a glass or plastic pitcher that has a very set of blades set into the bottom which are held in place with a rubber gasket and a screw-on cap to hold the blade plate in place and to provide pressure to prevent leaks. A Blender pitcher sits on a base that houses a small but very powerful motor and some kind of switch or buttons to press to change the speed of the motor and therefore of the revolving of the blades.  A blender includes a base on which a motor is connected and a plurality of ventilation holes are defined through a bottom of the base. An engaging collar is connected to the motor for rotating a blade device of a container mounted to the base. The heat generated from the motor is removed from the ventilation holes in the bottom of the base. blender consists of a glass or plastic container with a mounted blade in the bottom, and a base that has an electric motor and switches to turn on the motor or change its speed.

CHAPTER ONE
1.1                                                          INTODUCTION
A blender is a kitchen and laboratory appliance used to mix, or emulsify food and other substances. A stationary blender consists of a blender jar with a rotating metal blade at the bottom, powered by an electric motor in the base. Some powerful models can also crush ice.
A conventional blender for mixing and shredding fruit or vegetable generally includes a motor base for receiving a motor therein which drives a blade means in a bottom of a container. Fruit and/or vegetable in the container are shredded or cut by the rotational blades on the blade means to become liquid. However, because the motor generates heat during operation and there is no ventilation device in the motor base so that the term of use of the motor will be reduced by the heat. The motor is generally threaded to the motor base and this takes a lot of time.
Different blenders have different functions and features but product testing indicates that many blenders, even less expensive ones, are useful for meeting many consumer needs.

1.2                                             OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT
This work intends to fabricate a blender that removes heat from the bottom of the motor base and the fruit and/or vegetable will jump to be cut during the rotation of the blade disk.
At the end of this work, student involved would be able to fabricate a blender comprising:

  • a motor base having a base and a plurality of ventilation holes defined through a bottom of the base;
  • a motor connected to the base;
  • a casing mounted to said base and a central hole defined in a top of the casing
  • a container mounted to the motor base and a blade device located on an inner bottom of the container; and
  • a motor retainer extending from a top sauce of the base.

1.3                                         SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROJECT
A blender is one of the most versatile appliances that you could have in your kitchen. It makes it easier to introduce more fresh fruits and vegetables in your lifestyle, vary the tastes and textures, with ease, and enjoy super-foods that are barely cooked, packed with vitamins, oxidants and healthy nutrients.
Besides helping you cook larger quantities of fresh veggies and fruits, a blender can successfully do a lot more: making smoothies, preparing purees from different nuts, grinding flour, making cold, creamy soups, preparing the creams, barter or dough for different cakes/pizzas, making your own yogurts or vegetable milk, preparing pesto or crushing ice.
Other significance of this work is that:

  • has large visible measurement marks
  • ease of use
  • low noise during usage
  • power usage (typically 1253.18w)
  • ease of cleaning
  • option for quick "pulse" blending

1.4                                          ADVANTAGES OF THE PROJECT
Construction: The construction of a blender is very sleek, clean and trendy. The best part of this blender is that they have a contemporary look and gives the cooking area a well defined look.
Colour Combination: blender  is made with the help of sheets that come in different designs and colours. So, chances of duplication of blender style, is very less, if you opt for a blender.
Assembling: It is very easy to assemble a blender and it is movable too.
Repairs: Blender is easily repairable, so, if any part is damaged, it can easily be replaced and re-installed.
Easy Cleaning: Cleaning a blender is very easy because of its designing and a mere cloth wipe will keep your blender dust-free.
Durability: This type of blender set-up is durable in nature and if once installed.

1.5                                            PROBLEMS OF THE PROJECT
Costly: blender comes with a cost. Usually, this blender carries high-end articles and due to which they are very costly.
Bored: You will get bore from the style of blender sooner or later and will think of replacing it and will have to bear a cost again.
Expensive Spares: The spares of blender are very costly, so, if any of the part of modular kitchen is to be replaced, it will cost you a lot.
Regular Cleaning: blender requires daily cleaning else it looks dull.

1.6                                         APPLICATIONS OF THE PROJECT

Countertop blenders are designed to mix, purée, and chop food. Their strength is such that the ability to crush ice is an expected feature. Blenders are used both in home and commercial kitchens for various purposes, including to:

  • Blend ice cream, milk, and sweet sauces to make milkshakes
  • Mix and crush ice in cocktails
  • Crush ice and other ingredients in non-alcoholic drinks such as frappuccinos and smoothies
  • Emulsify mixtures
  • Make smooth purées of semi-solid ingredients, such as cooked vegetables and meat
  • Reduce small solids such as spices and seeds to powder or nut butters.
  • Blend mixtures of powders, granules, and/or liquids thoroughly.
  • Help dissolve solids into liquids.
