001: 3-DIMENSIONAL PRINTING : The advent of three-dimensional printing (3DP) technology has enabled the creation of a tangible and complex 3D object that goes beyond a simple 3D-shaded visualization on a flat monitor. Since the early 2000s, 3DP machines have been used only in hard tissue applications. Recently developed multi-materials for 3DP have been used extensively for a variety of medical applications, such as personalized surgical planning and guidance, customized implants, biomedical research, and preclinical education. In this review article, we discuss the 3D reconstruction process, touching on medical imaging, and various 3DP systems applicable to medicine. In addition, the 3DP medical applications using multi-materials are introduced, as well as our recent results.
002: 3G VS WIFI WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS : This seminar work compares and contrasts two technologies for delivering broadband wireless Internet access services: ‘‘3G’’ vs. ‘‘WiFi’’. The former, 3G, refers to the collection of third-generation mobile technologies that are designed to allow mobile operators to offer integrated data and voice services over mobile networks. The latter, WiFi, refers to the 802.11b wireless Ethernet standard that was designed to support wireless LANs. Although the two technologies reflect fundamentally different service, industry, and architectural design goals, origins, and philosophies, each has recently attracted a lot of attention as candidates for the dominant platform for providing broadband wireless access to the Internet. It remains an open question as to the extent to which these two technologies are in competition or, perhaps, may be complementary. If they are viewed as in competition, then the triumph of one at the expense of the other would be likely to have profound implications for the evolution of the wireless Internet and structure of the service-provider industry.
003: 4G WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY: This seminar work is on 4G wireless technology. 4G is the short name for fourth-generation wireless, the stage of mobile communications that will enable things like IP-based voice, data, gaming services and high quality streamed multimedia on portable devices with cable modem-like transmission speeds. It's a successor to 2G and 3G wireless, whereby the first signified the shift from analog to digital transmissions, bringing data services like SMS and email to mobile phones for the first time, and the second refers to the advent of things like global roaming as well as higher data rates. This report discused fully on 5G wireless network.
004: 5G WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY: 5th generation mobile networks or 5th generation wireless systems, abbreviated 5G, are the proposed next telecommunications standards beyond the current 4G/IMT-Advanced standards. Rather than faster peak Internet connection speeds, 5G planning aims at higher capacity than current 4G, allowing higher number of mobile broadband users per area unit, and allowing consumption of higher or unlimited data quantities in gigabyte per month and user. This would make it feasible for a large portion of the population to stream high-definition media many hours per day with their mobile devices, when out of reach of Wi-Fi hotspots. 5G research and development also aims at improved support of Device-to-device communication, aiming at lower cost, lower latency than 4G equipment and lower battery consumption, for better implementation of the Internet of things.5th generation mobile networks or 5th generation wireless systems, abbreviated 5G, are the proposed next telecommunications standards beyond the current 4G/IMT-Advanced standards. 005: 60A AUTOMATIC CHANGE OVER PROCESS: This seminar work is on a 60A automatic changeover . It provides a means of switching from one phase of AC mains to another in the case of failure in the existing phase; This project has been improved on the existing types of electromechanical device that has being in use over the years. Hence this has been achieved by the use of operational amplifier, timing circuit and high current relay switches and it is powered by 12V dc power supply. The aim of this work is to introduces an automatic solution to overcome power fluctuation/phase interruption by selecting next most healthy available phase to feed the equipment without any notice of power outage.
006: 64-POINT FT CHIP : Fourth generation wireless and mobile system are currently the focus of research and development. Broadband wireless system based on orthogonal frequency division multiplexing will allow packet based high data rate communication suitable for video transmission and mobile internet application. Considering this fact we proposed a data path architecture using dedicated hardwire for the baseband processor. he most computationally intensive part of such a high data rate system are the 64-point inverse FFT in the transmit direction and the viterbi decoder in the receiver direction. Accordingly an appropriate design methodology for constructing them has to be chosen a) how much silicon area is needed b) how easily the particular architecture can be made flat for implementation in VLSI c) in actual implementation how many wire crossings and how many long wires carrying signals to remote parts of the design are necessary d) how small the power consumption can be. This paper describes a novel 64-point FFT/IFFT processor which has been developed as part of a large research project to develop a single chip wireless modem.

A023: APPLICATION OF SWARM ROBOTS: This seminar work is on Swarm robotics which is a new approach to the coordination of multirobot systems which consist of large numbers of mostly simple physical robots. It is supposed that a desired collective behavior emerges from the interactions between the robots and interactions of robots with the environment. This approach emerged on the field of artificial swarm intelligence, as well as the biological studies of insects, ants and other fields in nature, where swarm behaviour occurs. Potential applications for swarm robotics is indeed numerous, and they are discused in this work.
A024: APPLICATION OF FUEL CELLS: fuel cell is a device that transforms chemical energy from a fuel – such as hydrogen – into electricity through a chemical reaction with oxygen or another oxidizing agent. By applying such a “cold” combustion process, the only waste is water, heat and oxygen-depleted air – which would contribute to reductions in emissions and noise when applied aboard an airliner
A025: ARC FAULT CIRCUIT INTERRUPTERS: Arc faults are one of the leading causes for residential electrical fires. Each year in Nigeria, over 40,000 fires are attributed to home electrical wiring. These fires result in over 350 deaths and over 1,400 injuries each year. Conventional circuit breakers only respond to overloads and short circuits, so they do not protect against arcing conditions that produce erratic, and often reduced current. In order to tackle this accident with advance technology, an arc fault circuit interupter was invented which is an advanced circuit breaker that breaks the circuit when it detects a dangerous electric arc in the circuit it protects to prevent electrical fires. An AFCI selectively distinguishes between a harmless arc incidental to normal operation of switches, plugs, and brushed motors, versus a potentially dangerous arc that can occur, for example, in a lamp cord which has a broken conductor.
A026: ARTIFICIAL EYE: To improve night vision in search-and-rescue robots, engineers have fabricated an artificial eye with night vision capabilities. The inspiration came from the biology of lobsters and elephant-nosed fish.
A027: ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN POWER STATION : Artificial Intelligence, or AI, is the ability of a computer to act like a human being. Think Humanly Think rationally Act humanly Act rationally. Recently, due to concerns about the liberalization of electricity supply, deregulation, and global impact on the environment, securing a reliable power supply has become an important social need worldwide. To ensure this need is fulfilled, detailed investigations and developments are in progress on power distribution systems and the monitoring of apparatus. In conventional substations, substation apparatus, such as switchgear and transformer, control, protection and monitoring equipment is independent of every other device, and connection is based on the signals coming through the cable. On the other hand, an intelligent substation shares all information on apparatus, control, protection, measurement and apparatus monitoring equipment through one bus by applying both “digital technology” and “IT-related technology.”
A028: ARITIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE SUBSTATION CONTROL: This report is on Artificial Intelligence in Substation Control, The upgradation of our 500-kV trunk transmission system has almost been completed, and the electricity system has been considerably improved. Yet, cost reductions are required to cope with the entry of IPP (Independent Power Producer) and the introduction of power source distributors caused by the deregulation of electric utilities. To achieve this, each electricity supply company is decreasing expenditure by efficiently using equipment, improving operations, and effectively controlling plant-and-equipment investment. In addition, power systems will become more complex, requiring operation in an uncertain and less structured environment. Consequently, secure and economic operation of power systems requires improved and innovative methods of control. The power distribution system also requires reductions in initial investments, such as the unit price of apparatus and miniaturization, and reduced costs for the whole life cycle, including the operation/maintenance costs of the substation system. The construction of a new power distribution system has been considered to meet these requirements. It will adopt “digital technology” and “IT-related technology,” which has made rapid advances in recent years. This system aims at minimizing the total cost, not only reducing of the unit price but also the cost of installation, construction, operation, and maintenance. This article discusses the construction of intelligent substations in the power distribution system, as well as protection/control-unified equipment as examples of the new technology.
This paper presents an overview of the Artificial Intelligence in Substation control centre operation environment after deregulation in developed countries that has deregulated the power industry. As a result, the transmission network operation has become more market driven. The control centre operation environment has subsequently changed from low cost based to market based optimization. The roles of the control centre personnel have changed. There is more focus on risk analysis, real time operational planning and real-time power system security. A brief review of the changes followed by some valid opinion of the control centre personnel are also discussed in this paper.
A029: ARITIFICIAL RETINA USING THIN FILM TRANSISTOR TECHNOLOGY: Advantages of thin film transistor (TFTs) are large-areal fabrication, low cost, substrate flexibility, etc. In particular, since poly-Si TFTs have high performance comparable with bulk-Si transistors, any kind of electronic circuits can be composed. However, conventional integrated drivers utilize only peripheral area. If in-pixel and inter-pixel operations are executed in pixel area, SOP will become more effective. In this presentation, an artificial retina using thin-film photodiodes (TFPDs) and poly-Si TFTs is proposed, which achieves edge enhancement, one of the functions of living retinas. The artificial retina is an improvement of SOP in which the in-pixel and inter- pixel operations are executed. Moreover, if this artificial retina is regarded as an initiative development of artificial organs, since it can be fabricated on flexible, harmless and organic substrates, it is expected to be suitable for living bodies

A032: AUTOMATIC BATHROOM LIGHT SWITCH: This seminar is on design and construction of an automatic bathroom light. The system automatically turns ON bathroom light when the bathroom door is opened, and remains lit in the occupied state. When the door is opened again the lamp turns off after a very short delay. This automatic circuit saves energy and greatly assists your visitors, especially at night.
A033: AUTOMATIC BATHROOM LIGHT WITH BACK-UP LAMP: Sometimes we forget to switch off the bathroom light and it remains on unnoticed for long periods. This circuit solves the problem of electricity wastage by switching off the lamp automatically after 30 minutes once it is switched on. The back-up LED lamp provided in the circuit turns on for three minutes when mains fails. This is helpful especially when you are taking a shower at night.

This means the feasibility to implant the artificial retina into human eyeballs.

[B001]. BACTERIA POWERED FUEL: Renewable and clean forms of energy are one of society's greatest needs. At the same time, 2 billion people in the world lack adequate sanitation and the economic means to afford it. Abundant energy, stored primarily in the carbohydrates can be found in waste biomass, agricultural, municipal and industrial sources as well as in dedicated energy crops. A microbial fuel cell is a device that directly converts the metabolic and enzyme catalytic energy to electricity by using conventional electrochemical technology. Chemical energy can be converted into electricity by coupling of biocatalytic oxidation of organic or inorganic compounds to the chemical reduction of an oxidant at the interface between cathode and anode.
BANDWIDTH REQUIREMENT FOR COMMUNICATION: In communication, Bandwidth is used to measure communication. It is defined as the width of the range of the frequencies that an electronic signal uses. Bandwidth is expressed in terms of the difference between the signal having highest-frequency and the signal having the lowest-frequency
Bandwidth is a key concept in many telephony applications. In radio communications, for example, bandwidth is the frequency range occupied by a modulated carrier wave, whereas in optics it is the width of an individual spectral line or the entire spectral range. In many signal processing contexts, bandwidth is a valuable and limited resource. For example, an FM radio receiver's tuner spans a limited range of frequencies. A government agency may apportion the regionally available bandwidth to broadcast license holders so that their signals do not mutually interfere. Each transmitter owns a slice of bandwidth, the same thing occurs when communication occur in any school such as using fm transmitter to pass information to students in the same environment.

HIGH AND LOW VOLTAGE CONTROL SYSTEM: The power line fluctuations and cut-offs causes damages to electrical appliances connected to the line. It is more serious in the case of domestic appliances like fridge and air conditioners. If a fridge is operated on low voltage, excessive current flows through the motor, which heats up, and get damaged.

High and low voltage cut off is a device designed to protect electrical appliances from over voltage as well as under voltage. The under/over voltage protection circuit with time delay presented in this work is a low cost and reliable circuit for protecting such equipments from damages. Whenever the power line is switched on it gets connected to the appliance only after a delay of a fixed time. If there is hi/low fluctuations beyond sets limits the appliance get disconnected. The system tries to connect the power back after the specific time delay, the delay being counted from the time of disconnection. If the power down time (time for which the voltage is beyond limits) is less than the delay time, the power resumes after the delay: If it is equal or more, then the power resumes directly.
This circuit has been designed, built and evaluated by me to use as a protector for my home refrigerator. This is designed around readily available semi-conductor devices such as standard bipolar medium power NPN transistor .

MICROCONTROLLERS AND MICROPROCESSORS: The introduction of “Microprocessor” has changed the way in which we view, analyze and control the world surrounding us over the past two decades. Microprocessor is considered a product of combined developments in the fields of computer architecture and Integrated Circuit (IC) fabrication. It has made the concept of personal computing very feasible. The Microcontroller is often considered as a byproduct in the development of microprocessor. The fabrication process and programming technique which are responsible in the development of microprocessors has also lead to the development of microcontrollers. Until a decade ago, the microcontrollers are less popular in both the technical community and general public even though most of the consumer electronics like televisions, video games, video cassette recorders, telephones, elevators etc. comprise of them. This work discuses differences between Microcontroller and microprocessors.

MICROBATTERY: With the advent of the integrated circuit, the consumer electronics industry began to take shape and, in the latter part of the 20th century, exploded into a huge market. The use of smaller and multi-functional portable devices drove the need for smaller, more powerful batteries, and continues to do so today.
In the early 1990s, Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, began development of a thin film based lithium battery. In other words, some of the same techniques used to manufacture integrated circuits were used to create a battery. The result was a flat battery that was thinner than plastic wrap. By placing the device in a semiconductor package, ORNL created a battery-on-a-chip. To date, ORNL has been awarded (by our count) 16 patents relating to this technological endeavor.

POWER ELECTRONIC DEVICES AND APPLICATIONS: Power Electronics deals with the applications of solid state electronic devices in the control and conversion of electric power. Power Electronics has seen a tremendous growth in recent times and almost all the applications today use power electronic devices in some or the other form. Hence it becomes essential to study the advantages of these devices, which made it so popular.
POWER FAILURE AND IT EFFECT ON APPLIANCES: Electric power supply is the most important commodity for national development. With electrical energy the people are empowered to work from the domestic level and the cottage industries, through the small-scale and medium industries to employment in the large-scale manufacturing complexes. In these days, depriving people of electric power is tantamount to castration. Power failure is a period of time when the electricity supply to a particular building or area is interrupted, for example because of damage to the cables or any other reason. Modern equipment requires a continuous supply of electricity. Not only industry, but also in the household. Take the case of a refrigerator. If you experience a power off situation, your food will be spoilt. This work in particular discuses power failure and its effect on appliances.

SENSORS FOR HUMAN PRESENCE: This seminar work often used in motion detection. Motion is detected when an infrared source with one temperature, such as a human, passes in front of an infrared source with another temperature, such as a wall. The sensor does not dectect the "heat" from the object passing in front of it. Instead it detects that the object breaks the field which the sensor has determined as the "normal" state. Any object, even one exactly the same temperature as the surrounding objects will cause the PIR to activate if it moves in the field of the sensors.

SMART GRID – FUTURE ELECTRIC GRID: Smart grid is referred to as “an automated, widely distributed energy delivery network incorporating the benefits of distributed computing and communications to deliver real-time information and enable the near-instantaneous balance of supply and demand. The smart grid brings the philosophies, concepts, and technologies that enabled the Internet to the utility and energy grid."
Power grids now undertake a one-directional “broadcast" power from the central power generators to users. The smart grid concept entails routing power to users using two-way digital technology that enables the power grid to respond to a wide range of conditions at the users point, facilitating optimal energy usage, resulting in reduced cost and increased reliability and transparency. In this work, reasons why smart grid will replace our traditional grid is discussed.

WIRELESS POWER TRANSFER THROUGH COILS: As power requirements for portable devices increase, consumers are looking for easy-to-use charging solutions that can be deployed in a wide array of environments such as home, office, automobiles, airports, schools and more. Wireless charging uses an electromagnetic field to transfer energy between two objects. This is usually done with a charging station. Energy is sent through an inductive coupling to an electrical device, which can then use that energy to charge batteries or run the device.
