ABSTRACT

It was discovered that virus such as COVID-19 propagates rapidly incold temperature and humidity. Manypeople are conscious about the environment they are living in. In order to help those people a smartenvironment monitoring system is needed. A smart Internet of Things (IoT) based temperature and humidity realtime monitoring and reporting system isan effective system that is equipped with temperature sensor and relative humidity sensors for taking measurement. The proposed system is anadvanced solution for monitoring and live reporting the temperature and humidity at different points inspecific locations. The real time data from these sensors are stored in cloud server and email is sent to thepredefined recipients to let them access the data remotely over internet. When the measurement oftemperature and humidity reaches over safe level then the recipients can take immediate action to alertpeopletobecarefulaboutcoronavirus.TheproposedsystemisdesignedbasedonArduinoUNOBoard,temperature sensor DHT11, humidity sensor, ESP8266 Wi-Fi module, IoT, DC-DC modular, and solarpanel. The main characteristics of this proposed system is low cost, low power consumption because ofself-powered device, high accuracy and user friendly. The system shows a high degree of accuracy andreliability.

1.0                                                          INTRODUCTION
1.1                                                     BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Keeping an eye on the ideal temperature and humidity levels in a classroom is essential. Sudden changes in the weather can impact the health of both the students and teachers.
Therefore, It is important for us to understand the advantages of maintaining/controlling an ideal temperature in order to make a suitable environment for learning.
Inthistimeandday,everythingcanbemonitoredandcontrolledautomatically.Unfortunately,inanimportantsectorlikeEducation,theautomaticmonitoringofphysics lecture halls is very important,especiallywhenitcomestoprevention of sicknesses and diseases such as COVID-19.
InCOVID-19pandemicperiod,environmentalconcernincludingtemperatureandhumidityvariations are becoming an important topic. Therandomvariationoftemperatureandhumiditycausedbygreenhouseeffecthasimpactonpropagationofcoronavirus.Theseunwantedchangesaredrivingtodevelopofenvironmentmonitoring system especially for temperature andhumidity[1].ThispaperfocusesanIoTbasedsystemthateffectivelymonitorthevariationin temperature          and     humidity using        sensors, microcontroller, and IoT based technologies. Thismakes our system more reliable as if one of thenodes is not working properly or been damagedsomehow than the other one will begin to functionor activate dynamically. Wireless communicationsareusedtocollectdataandtocommunicatebetweenthecentralizedcontrolcenterandtheactuatorslocatedatdifferentlocationswithinaspecified area [3].In this proposed system, the datacollected from different nodes are stored in cloudserverandthensenttotherecipientthroughemail.
1.2                                                           PROBLEM STATEMENT
InCOVID-19pandemicperiod,coronaviruspropagatesrapidlyincoldtemperatureandhumidity.Manypeople are conscious about the environment they are living in even in our schools. In order to help those people a smartenvironment monitoring system is needed. The proposed system was built to monitor physics classroom temperature and relative humidity.
1.3                                               AIM AND OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY
The main aim of this work is to create an effective and healthylearning environment by automatically monitor the relative humidity and temperature of a physics hall using internet of things. The objectives are:

  1. To monitor relative humidity and temperature wirelessly
  2. To build a device that monitors relative humidity and temperature wirelessly
  3. To reduce human labour.
  4. To ensure that students and teachers are happy, healthy and comfortable

1.4                                           SCOPE AND LIMITATION OF THE STUDY
The scope of this work covers wireless monitoringof temperature and relative humidity of a physics class room. The proposedsystemincorporatesvarioussensorssuchastemperaturesensor andhumidity sensor to collectpossible environmental parameters of the environment as well asintegrate Arduino Uno. It is accomplished by the data communications between Arduino, DHT11 Sensor Module, ESP8266 WIFI moduleand LCD.Celsius scale thermometer and percentage scale humidity meter displays the ambient temperature and humidity through a LCD display.
1.5                                               SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
The building and application of this device in our classroom shall serve as a means of maintaining and ensuring happy, healthy and comfortable learning and teaching environment for both students and lecturers.
Also, this study will serve as a medium of exposing us to the application of IoT and integration of arduino with DHT11 Sensor Module, ESP8266 WIFI moduleand LCD.

CHAPTER FIVE
5.1                              SUMMARY
There are many benefits of maintaining optimal temperature and humidity in a classroom. Other than contributing to good health, it ensures that classroom sessions can be productive. Maintaining proper conditions ensures there is a better mental focus that is key to better performance. This work provides an effective means of providing the best environment for students and teachers by implementing iot base temperature and relative humidity monitoring system.
5.1                              CONCLUSION
The proposed system in this paper has been carried out to monitor real-time condition (Humidity and Temperature) through internet. This does not require physical presence and can save human work and will be a very effective way of monitoring environment during the COVID-19 pandemic situation. The system can retrieve temperature and humidity data on the server room and the temperature and humidity data that has been taken can be displayed on the website in graphical form. The advantages of this research work are that this system can also regulate the humidity in the server.
5.2                                                  RECOMMENDATIONS
The device (iot base temperature and relative humidity monitoring system) has been designed, tested and system was able to respond to its operation. This work was built with quality wiring and contains many connections, I recommend that if failure occur, it should be troubleshoot by a qualify personnel along with the circuits diagram.
Working on this topic (IoT base temperature and relative humidity monitoring system) as my project is a good idea and it comes at the right time. I am suggesting that this particular topic should also be given to other students both in higher and lower class.
