A house bell is a signaling device typically placed near an entry door to a building. When a visitor presses a button the bell rings inside the building, alerting the occupant to the presence of the visitor. Modern house bells are electric — they are actuated by an electric switch.
In most wired systems, a button on the outside next to the door, located around the height of the doorknob, activates a signaling device (usually a chime, bell, or buzzer) inside the building. Pressing the housebell button, a single-pole, single-throw (SPST) pushbutton switch momentarily closes the doorbell circuit. The function of the indicator is to indicate when someone is pressing the button.

1.1 INTRODUCTION
To cleanly understand the wood information technology and communication which is the life blood of all human activities the assimilation of communication technology is of great important. The development of communication technology in any nation makers communication technology easy and pleasant. And one of basic building block of a communication system is the house bell indicating which serves as inter-call light to ensure proper communication within an officer or domestic.
An electrical bell can be define as dunce which can be use to alert signal for indicating of problem in alarm signals.
The device is classified according to were types, mode of operation and the application there are numerous types of alarming signals but for the purpose of this project an electric bell with light indicator is considered.
This device receives its input signal form an electrical device known as bell push. That was connected at the wing board Via joint box. The signal (current) passes through the wire and fed into the bell which causes the bell to ring in order to alert the receiver.
Furthermore, the objective of this house bell is to provide a cheap and continent means of communication between two or more people in the same premises.
The major different between inter- communication system using telephone and electric bell is that the signal is transmitted by the call indicator system in place of speech as in the case of the telephony.
One terminal of this button is wired to a terminal on a transformer. A doorbell transformer steps down the 240-volt AC electrical power to a lower voltage, typically 10 to 20 volts.
1.2 OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT
The objective of this house bell is to design a device that will provide a cheap and continent means of communication between two or more people in the same premises. In electric bell, the signal is transmitted by the call indicator system and was built around 555timers ic which was configured as astable mode.
1.3 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROJECT
House bell Provide a cheap and continent means of communication between two or more people in the same premises. It can also be used in offices or industries as a mean alerting of someone.
1.4 SCOPE OF THE PROJECT
Electronic bell components include the outdoor button, wiring, battery, buzzer or speaker. The electric doorbell functions when the door button, outside the home, is pushed, causing electrical current to flow into a circuit. When a visitor came to the house and want to inform the occupant of the house of his presences, all he need to do is to press the switch button. Due to the switch connection to the circuit the wire ‘w’ develops resistance and gets conducted because of battery connector and also to the circuit.
1.5 APPLICATION OF THE PROJECT
This Electric bell is widely used:
- at railroad crossings,
- in telephones,
- fire and burglar alarms,
- as school bells, doorbells,
- and alarms in industrial plants
The doorbell is nearly as old as the door itself and had many kinks worked out of it before becoming the smooth, precision engineered piece of Home Hardware that it is today. The first house bell was a natural instrument: the human voice. Unfortunately, language was far more studded with profanity than it is today (legitimate things to discuss being a drastically smaller segment of the vocabulary) and so any screaming or bellowing through partitions initiated fighting effortlessly. The metallurgists of the time were able to produce a better alternative with their silent, non-power-consuming technology for motion, sound, and pressure sensing. This technology, seen in Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Great Rolling Ball (off camera) soon debuted for door belling. This incarnation soon fell out of fashion after the plunder cave incident. It seemed that the desert cave housing 40 sheaves of gold was supposed to be opened by a young, inexperienced desert carter. He said the magic password, "open sesame," and died of exhaustion trying a thousand other ideas, when tragically the gears of the house were simply gummed up with sand. After this debacle, authorities placed the house bell on hiatus until general standards could drop.
The house bell didn't get its big break until 1908, when the rich owner of several grubby-worker cork factories skimmed the executive summary he found in an antique jar, a find of his in the orient. After many weeks of grunt work with a substandard, waterfall prototyping process, the modern house bell was born. Granted, when the boss learned his underlings had brought him a button, he laid off half his staff, but the other half did go on to create the house bell as we know it today. There was a spot of tough selling initially, what with funds going into preparing for World War I, but a clever advertisement with a rubber chicken and a fop did the trick. Soon house bells were being sold like hotcakes and eaten like them as well.1.7 PROJECT WORK ORGANISATION
The various stages involved in the development of this project have been properly put into five chapters to enhance comprehensive and concise reading. In this project thesis, the project is organized sequentially as follows:
Chapter one of this work is on the introduction to an electronic bell with indicating light. In this chapter, the background, significance, objective limitation and problem of an electronic bell with indicating light were discussed.
Chapter two is on literature review of an electronic bell with indicating light. In this chapter, all the literature pertaining to this work was reviewed.
Chapter three is on design methodology. In this chapter all the method involved during the design and construction were discussed.
Chapter four is on testing analysis. All testing that result accurate functionality was analyzed.
Chapter five is on conclusion, recommendation and references.
CHAPTER FIVE
5.1 CONCLUSION
House bell is an electronic bell. When an electric current is applied, it produces a repetitive buzzing or clanging sound.
An electric buzzer uses a similar mechanism to an interrupter bell, but without the resonant bell. They are quieter than bells, but adequate for a warning tone over a small distance, such as across a desktop.
A buzzer or beeper is an audio signalling device, which may be mechanical, electromechanical, or piezoelectric. Typical uses of buzzers and beepers include alarm devices, timers and confirmation of user input such as a mouse click or keystroke.
5.2 RECOMMENDATION
