INTRODUCTION
In the world today. It is definitely not a new thing that most activities being performed by almost all organizations have been computerized. In factual sense, the invention of computer which began with a very small investment has now increased both in strength and importance when one looks back with analytical mind, it can be concluded that Computer Technology keeps on advancing with remarkable increase in speed, accuracy and reliability.
Computer as an electronic device has the ability of performing a very vast amount of Data, This Device is made up of Software and Hardware components. It can be handle volume and complex information at a very High Speed in view of this factor, the range of computer capability is paramount to employ in one Hand.
On another Hand, Designing and implementing a website for “AUNTIE TOLA NURSERY AND PRIMARY SCHOOL” is above of contention for the project and it will be beneficial to the School management, students and general public.
Designing a website has cut across many organizations in the world today. This is so because of the easy-accessing capability which can be provided by a Web base Application.
A website is a collection of web pages, images, videos, and other Digital assets that is Hosted on one or several web server usually accessible via the internet, cell phone or a LAN. The pages of website can usually be accessed from a common root called the Homepage and the same physical server.
The requirement of a website must be attractive and must also include proper arrangement links and images which enables a browser to easily interpret and access the properties of the site. Hence, it provides the browser with adequate information and functionality about the organization, commonly network and above all, schools. Moreso, the website to be designed for this school will incorporate features like Homepage, User log in module, Students Registration which will enable recruiters form on the Notice board and the events corner for Displaying the Latest Development, announcement and events associated with the school.
1.2 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
There are some certain problems encountered in the existing system under investigation. Some of those problems which affects the Management’s Students in their various needs are as follows.
- Inadequate information dissemination to the students and general public
- Extensive use of paper during students Registration exercise
- The existing types of Database is not dynamic
- Lack of uploading facility on the website
- Inability to reach global forum.
1.3 AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The aim of any well defined project is to critically examine certain system in existence, discover any faulty areas and propose a corrective measure to the system by designing a new system. Likewise, the aim of this project is to identify and analyze the problems or challenges faced by existing system of “Auntie-Tola Nursery and Primary School and design a more feasible, attractive and dynamic website which will soon be implemented.
Also, the objective of this project are as follows:
- To make information reachable to students on Time
- To reduce the risk involved in Transportation
- To critically examine the existing system, identifying various problems encountered and provide solutions to the problems.
- To ensure the proper management of links and images which will enable a browser to easily interpret and access the properties of the web.
- To reduce the stress involved in Student Registration.
- To compose the benefits derivable from the existing system with the proposed system.
1.4 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
It has been observed that Designing of a Website for Auntie Tola Nursery and Primary School will be very essential; in fact, it provide a Direct and easy way of getting information to the general public and most especially to the students. Implementation of this project will actually reduce the stress involved in the operation and as well increase profitability of the school.

There are some terms related with website concept, some of which are defined below for the benefit of the reader.
INTERNET: This is a global system interconnected computer networks that use the standard internet protocol suite. It’s a worldwide system of computer network, a network of which provide e-mail and information from computers in education, institutions, accessible to General public via modern links.
WEB PAGE: This is a document connected to web and viewable by anyone connected to the internet that has a web browser.
SERVER: A Server is a computer that manages access to a centralized resources or services in a network. It is also a computer that hold files for one or more sites.
WEBSITE: A computer connected to the internet that maintains a series of web pages on World Wide Web.
DBMS (Database Management System):- This is a software package with computer programs that controls the creation, maintenance and the use of Database which allows organizations to conveniently develop database for various applications by Database administration.
SQL: Structured Query language i.e A language used to query database
DATABASE: Is an integrated collection of Data records, files and other Database object needed by an application.
HTML (HYPERTEXT MARK UP LANGUAGE): This is a standardized system for Tagging text files to achieve font, colour, graphics and hyperlink effects on world wide web pages.
URL (Uniform Resource Locator): URL is the global address of document and other resources on the world wide web.
HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol): the underlying protocol used by the World Wide Web. It define how messages are formatted and browser should take in response to various commands.
WEB BROWSER: This is a software application for retrieving, presenting and traversing information resources on World Wide Web and can only be used across to access information provided by web server in private networks of files in file system
1.7 REVIEW OF PAST WORK ON THE SUBJECT
The extent to which websites have affected the flow exchange and sharing of information between individuals, groups, institutions etc. this is alarming and it is still very much on the increase irrespective of the geographical locations of beneficiaries, hence the term “global village”.
According to Awosika (2011) the World Wide Web is an integral, important and exciting part of the internet, extending or found everywhere in the world. It comprises of series of websites that are made up of WebPages that consist of art galleries, magazine, music sample, games, educational materials, movies etc. he also stated that the World Wide Web has turned the world into a global village and that the study or appreciation of the internet cannot be separated from the World Wide Web,
According to Aronu (2009), the World Wide Web is the most exciting new tool for the internet. He also stated that it is based on a technology called hypermedia with hypermedia; information in one document can be linked to other related documents. This linked information can consist of not only text and graphics but also audio and video information.
Zeltser (2007), demonstrated that World Wide Web is a continuous search for innovative ways of sharing information resources. The World Wide Web is a principle of universal readership. If the information is available then any person should be able to access if from anywhere in the world.
Youngblood (2010) demonstrated that the World Wide Web has become a vast resource of information. Information stored is quite difficult to find because of the complexity in organization and the quantity of information which is uniquely named directories on the websites one major thing the writer failed to take into consideration is the use of search engine in searching for information as quickly as possible.
However, Banji (2010) in a seminar presentation stated that internet and its World Wide Web are still a dark cloud just as Africa is imagine black. He also stated that Africa has not be able to utilize the magic and wonders of the World Wide Web in this age of technology information.
Moreover, the use of search engine to navigate the information on the internet improves the limitation of Youngblood’s work. Africa is imagine black because he has not be able to utilize the vast potential of the World Wide Web in this age of technology as stated by Banji. This statement account for the genesis of this project work.
Finally, the desire to embark on this research work was borne out of the fact that Nigeria has not really explore the vast potentials of the internet especially in its secondary schools.
