The purpose of this study was to concentrate on the effect of management development progammes employee’s production in an organization the Elite Textile Industries Nigeria Limited, Iganmu, Lagos. Various respondents among the department of the organization were selected to respond to the questionnaire.
Utilizing the sire method, the questionnaire was used together information needed and questionnaires were administered to a total number of 23 employees of Elite Textile Industries Nigeria Limited, Iganmu, Lagos. A simple frequency was used for data analysis in other to determine the variable provided. (Thi-square (x2) test was applied to hypothesis testing.
Furthermore, a through examination was made of literature on the topic of study. The information in the related literature was used in part of formulate the recommended procedures.
The findings related that training and development are very essential to every business organization for the survival of the business because of the competition rate of the industries. Also business organization will increase their productivity level continuously with a well planned development programmes for their staff and this will go a long way to aid management succession.
The researcher agrees that the staff development center (S.D.C) of the company deserves some commendation for the development program for their staff and this will go to aid management succession and the management to achieve its objectives.

1.0 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Management is a unique element that is applicable to any establishment or organization, management has been differently defined by many people. Some look at it as a man made term or a group of people that control the affairs of an establishment.
Management is also referred to as a process demanding the productivity of specific function, here being seen as a profession. However, management is also a process that involves planning, organizing, coordinating, motivating and controlling resources before the stated objective can be admired. For management to achieve its objectives resources must be available, these resources may be material, human and financial and they all to be organized, coordinated and controlled in order to achieved the stated objectives.
According to British Institute of Management, Management can also be seen as the process of getting things done through other people or subordinate.
A management must have task to be achieved and he cannot achieve things without the assistance of the subordinates, the subordinate will perform the job. Good management looks to the future and prepares it hence, one important way is to develop and train
manager so that they can be able to cope with new demands problems and challenges.
Indeed, organization has the responsibility to provide training and development opportunity for the employees so that they can reach their full potentials, training is concerned with present development and with the future.
However, during the 1905s, firm became aware that management needs special knowledge and skill that can be taught. This motion was conclude surely arrived at when it is discovered that today business organization has certain characteristics is complexity, this has been in the form of broad production line, based on challenging technology, serving international market characterized by many firms.
1.1 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
Many companies are today being faced by declining productivity, the reasons may be due to low morale, unconductive environment, poor 1ary package need to be abreast to time to ensures that they are it tuned to ways of handling equipments that can enhance productivity. These must be done in the face of declining economy and company scarce resource & For an organization to achieve its objectives effectively, such organization must introduce or have a kind of training and development for the employees to enhance better productivity.
1.2 OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
The major aim and objective of the study is to examine the effective of management development program on employment productivity in an organization.
This study aim at looking into the following
1. To examine whether management development program eventually increase workers productivity.
2. To discuss the need for management development in the Nigeria industries.
3. To know how management development increase the organization present and future capacity.
4. To proffers suggestion towards solving these problems.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
Management and employees development program are those organization sponsored programme aimed at education supervisory and employees above the immediate technical requirement of their jobs.
This research work will be useful to the management, employees and organization at large. This study would help management to look for the types of the development system appropriate for their employees. More over, the study will assist organization to achieve their aims and objectives.
1.5 SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY
The case study of this project would be and the scope is to critically analyze the effect of management development programmes on employees productivity in an organization with reference to the case study. This study will cover some typical problem of management development programme in the Nigeria firms, the time allocated for the research work is very limited and unfavorable.
Moreover, the tools needed for the secondary data like the journal, textbooks and some from chapter four of the management (C.M.D) are difficult to get or some by.
1.6 RESEARCH QUESTIONS

Elite Textile Industries Nigeria Limited was brought over from the managers in 1983 and how headquarters at iganmu.
Hite Textile Nigeria Limited engages in the production of lace, shirts sitting materials their main material (YARN) is used in the production of their production is produced by one of the company’s stet’s. That is the limited spinners Nigeria limited. Other companies’ iii the groups are:
1. President industries Nigeria limited, plot 221, A papa Road, Iganmu, also at plot 12, Isreal Adebaja dose, Ikeja, Lagos. They provide the best synthetic fabric, they produce, the best in guinea brocades, was gambari etc.
2. Limited spinners Nigeria limited (a subsidiary located along Apapa, Oshodi Expressway, Amunwa Odofin, Lagos. They produce main textile raw materials (YARN).
3. Exports: There is an exports division of the company engaged in opening new market for its products and Nigeria’s agriculture products like cocoa, gum, ginger etc.
4.The agricultural sector comprises of the following: pro oil mill
and plantation, Benin Edo state. They engaged in (ii palm productions, processing and refinery.
5. Presagric integration firm kin29 Oyo lseyiri road, Isein, Ovc state. They engaged in cultivation of maize, soya beans, cowpeas, sunflower, ginger.
1.10 DEFINITION OF TERMS
The terms used in the study are as follows:
TRAINING: Dr Leonard Nedler (1999) defines training as that activity which are designed to improve the human productivity on the job, the employees is presently doing or is being hired to do. He further stressed that it is an experience, or discipline or a regime, which caused people to acquire new, predetermined behaviour.
MANAGEMENT: It can be defined as group of individual who are united in an effort to achieve certain objectives and goals with their limited resources together efficiently and effectively so that organization goals and objectives can be achieved.
DEVELOPMENT: This is the process of acquiring background knowledge of a subject. it is a person oriented, rather than job oriented.
Productivity : It is concern with the work agreement to concede to changes in the working methods and practices thereby leading to more economic and efficient use if the available resources while the workers are paid higher remuneration.
EMPLOYEE: Is the same thing as the work force or human resources L which is of the factor of production that is combining with other factor of production for goods and services
